Chrome Logo Brand Guidelines

I worked directly with the Marketing Team at Google in the United States to design and write the brand guidelines for the Chrome logo. This involved everything from stress testing their updated logo for clarity and legibility at all sizes, through to identifying correct size and placement across multiple advertising formats.

McLaren F1 Livery

Google had a small, and a restrictive amount of sponsored space on the top and the wheels of the McLaren F1 race car to advertise Chrome. I worked with the Google Team to design a selection of different livery options that would provide maximum brand recognition and awareness, even when travelling at top speeds.

App Store Video

Working alongside an animator and the Google Marketing Team, I designed and storyboarded the Google Chrome App Store videos that feature on the download page of the Apple App Store.

Google wanted to test several versions of these videos to understand what features of the browser performed best and engaged the most interest from the video. Therefore I suggested a modular structure, where each Chrome feature had only 5 seconds, and featured an intro and outro sequence. This meant the Google Team could create as many videos as they liked, adding, removing and rearranging these modules to find their winning order.

We delivered two videos for Google to A/B test, one that shows the whole iPhone with the headlines featuring at the top (Video A), and a second where we removed the iPhone frame, focused on the Chrome user interface and placed the headlines in the middle of the screen (Video B).
